Let’s see neighbors Flourish for generations

Alongside neighbors, we’ve worked for 20+ years in South Atlanta to see people thrive. Now, we’re making sure the coming generations will thrive, too.

Your support drives economic vitality, mixed-income housing, education, and neighborhood health & wellness.

We are launching new initiatives in each of our pillars to build on the strides we’ve made to flourishing, and to make sure they last.

Over the past year, we have scaled up our capacity like never before. Just take a look at what we’ve accomplished this year alone.

Eli-Bivins_2

He grew up going to South Atlanta Youth Group.

NOW HE HELPS TO LEAD IT.

Eli’Sha “Eli” Bivins is making sure the next generation of South Atlanta neighbors flourish. He started going to Youth Group at around six or seven years of age.

“I came here because Ms. Michelle was in the neighborhood and invited us,” Eli remembers. Michelle Witherspoon is still our Youth Development Coordinator, and it was her invitation that opened up a brand new opportunity for Eli. As a young child, he says entering Youth Group was like moving into a different atmosphere. It was energizing and exciting. After he became too old to participate as a youth group member, he decided to return as a leader!

Even as a leader, he notices the difference in his mood the minute he steps through the door to be with the younger students. “When you’re tired, it puts a positive effect on you. The atmosphere makes you want to do it whether you’re tired or not.” Today, Eli runs the games and serves as an occasional instructor for today’s youth in the neighborhood.
