Forming flourishing communities requires small, purposeful gatherings on a daily basis—but especially around holidays. Recently, the South Atlanta Youth Group gathered to celebrate in a fun and delightful way! Neighbors gathered together to share a meal, spend time in the park, meet the Easter bunny, collect Easter eggs, and, most importantly, remember the significance of hope and resurrection.
Families, friends, and neighbors enjoyed a meal from Chick-fil-A. Soon afterward, children and parents ran off to collect Easter eggs laid out by the Easter bunny! Damian, Youth Development Coordinator, shared his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “One thing we love to see every year is the community participation at our Easter Egg Hunt. When families come out to be together, and our fields are filled with kids running around collecting Easter Eggs, it is easy to see the value of community.”
The South Atlanta Youth Group meets weekly on Wednesdays to forge relationships and have fun. The group consists of young people ages 6-18 who live in South Atlanta. They seek holistic growth through weekly Wednesday evening gatherings, healthy adult and peer relationships, quarterly celebratory outings, and extended summer camp experiences.
Your generous support makes events like our Easter Celebration and the ongoing activities of the South Atlanta Youth Group possible. When we all get involved, we can build flourishing communities!
